How times flies, it seems like last week that I and Herbert sat drinking pints in the Drayman’s Son in Ely talking about places we’d like to visit, journeys we’d love to make.  That night we agreed that a train to Lviv in the west of Ukraine would be the perfect European adventure. We joked about going one day, never really imagining it would actually come to pass…

And in five weeks time we’ll be setting off from St Pancras International, Ура! вперед!

Where are we going?

Well, Lviv obviously but we’ll also spend some time in Kraków (Poland) and Ivano-Frankivsk (100 miles or so south of Lviv).

Accomodation

It’s all via AirBnB, which makes everything nice and easy (and cheap).  Here’s what the outside of our Lviv flat looks like:

Sweet!

Ivano-Frankivsk

We’ll spend a night in the university town of Ivano-Frankivsk. We thought it would be a nice idea to have some time in a more obscure (to us) place.  It was a toss-up between Ivano-F and Ternopil, Ivan-F won as it’s closer to the mountains.

More to come soon!
