A couple of weeks ago I took Harry and his pal Jude to Brampton Woods<\/a>. \u00a0Harry was a little resistant at first, suggesting the time might be better spent in front of a computer or Playstation etc but as soon as they entered the woods that all stopped.<\/p>\n

We spent some time finding a likely spot to build a camp and eventually came across the right location just beside a shallow stream.<\/p>\n

The boys got to work fording the stream…<\/p>\n

I was assigned the slightly more domestic task of building a camp, in which we sat to eat our sandwiches.<\/p>\n

It was a joy to see the boys having fun in the woods, doing stuff with sticks and branches, jumping streams, tearing through the bushes…just like it should be, always.<\/p>\n

The next stop on the day’s adventuring was a trip with Harry’s grandfather, Bob, to Woodwalton Fen<\/a>.<\/p>\n

After much tramping (quietly) about we arrived at bird hide where we were lucky to see some Marsh Harriers swooping about. \u00a0A bird spotter kindly handed over her binoculars so the (very impressed) boys could get a close up of the\u00a0magnificent\u00a0birds.<\/p>\n

Eventually we had to head back to the car, the younger passengers collapsed into a sleepy heap almost\u00a0immediately.<\/p>\n
